Rig & Effects

  • The Profiler Model referred to in this thread is ...
    ☑️ Profiler Head/Rack

When I create a Rig, using whatever profiled amp, I'll set the effects the way I want then save it. There are times when I just want to try a different amp and not change the effects. Is it possible to try different amps while and not alter the effects I've set up?

  • Playloud The most convenient way might be selective browse. If you dial the BROWSE knob while the Stack Section is open, you can browse through the Rigs in the PROFILER's Rig pool, but just pick and load the Stack. Selective Browse is available for amplifier, cabinet, and stack at Head/Rack/Stage models.

You could also load presets of amplifiers, cabinets, or stack, if you create those upfront. The PROFILER comes with a few examples. The preset method also works via Rig Manager. And it can also be applied at the Player.

  • No, but if you drag&drop existing amp, cabinet, and stack presets in Rig Manager, it drops it correctly. So stack presets for example overwrite the stack.

You cannot create stack presets via Rig Manager, just amplifier and cabinet presets. Stack presets can only be created at HEad7Rack/Stage hardware and then appear in Rig Manager.

This really should be an added feature! There was a reason why the ability to create stack presets was made possible on the head/rack/stage in the first place. For Player users, this would be even more valuable, since they can't lock their effects. If Rig Manager can already recognize these stack presets created on the bigger units, it seems logical that Rig Manager should let you make such presets and store them locally regardless of what unit you are using. Even if there is a reason that the Player wouldn't let you store stack presets on the unit itself, why couldn't they be stored locally in Rig manager and then applied to whatever Rig is currently loaded? In that way, the Player itself isn't even recognizing a stack preset. All it knows is that a new amp and cab were placed in a rig while connected to Rig manager.
