Too much bass on specific note

    ☑️ Profiler Stage

Hello everyone, I have a problem regarding my Profiler Stage.

I usually play with a lot of distortion through my Kemper and have noticed, that when I play a palm muted C anywhere on my guitar, the base is just over the top.
When I have the volume high I even noticed pictures on the wall and loose change vibrating.

I played through a Yamaha DRX 12 and Nubert A-125 Pro and encountered the same issue on both.

To me it feels like I am maybe hitting a natural frequency somewhere in the Profiler wich leads to this extreme amplification.

Did anyone else ever encounter a simular problem? Is there an issue with my Profiler?
Or can it maybe be fixed through settings in the Profiler?

Any help would be very appreciated.

  • I have had similar experiences with and without the Kemper in the chain. I have had speakers that exhibited the behavior you describe. Many ported speakers have an odd bass response. But it sounds like you have tried different speakers. Next, I would suspect the room as every room has resonant frequencies. Have you experimented with different rooms? I would guess it is related to those two things.

  • First of all thanks for the quick response.

I have tried playing in different rooms and had the same issue.
When I use headphones I don't have the problem. But I don't have studioheadphones, I use "regular" ones.

I habe tried using a low cut but it only works when I cut at about 280 Hz.
I also tried using an EQ to specificly cut out the note (also around 280 Hz). This worked pretty good but it had a noticable effect on my tone.

  • Most likely a mode in your room? Is your room treated?

Try sitting in different spots in the room. Does it change?
