Player Output Routing

I don’t have a Player, but am considering one. It looks like the only way to route a DI signal to an output is via the USB connection. Is that correct?

I’d like to have 4 outputs, without USB, because I use an 8 channel Focusrite for recording performances:

    1. Master > Focusrite

    2. DI > Focusrite

    3. Monitor (no cab) > Stage Monitor

    4. Master > FOH

Is that doable with the Player?

If not, would creating a composite input device on a Mac (combining the Kemper USB and the Focusrite) work?

  • You can freely download the user manual for the Player here and check those options...

I did that and did not see if there is a way to freely select the output source for the monitor L/R and headphone jacks. It also seemed that the DI source is only available to the USB output, but it was not clear.

I’ve looked for video showing the Player output source options in Rig Manager, but did not find any specifically covering all available sources.

If there’s a way to flip rig manager to Player mode, without a Player attached, I could try that and look myself. ?

  • Hello,

I also asked for more configurability for outputs that is now very limited (in my case I’m interested to use outputs 3&4 from DAW via USB to be assigned to headphones out instead monitor/main out via DAW channels 1&2 in order to have only backing tracks on monitor/main and backing tracks plus tempo clicks on headphones in ear monitor but now channels 3&4 can only be used for reamping that I don’t use).

It would be nice to have more configurability for outputs.

An aggregate device in Mac works fine but the new device will have the latency of the slowest interface or even worse. In my case the Kemper drivers are at least twice as slow as my MOTU.

A better solution would simply be to use a DI box between the Guitar and Kemper. XLR out from the box would be the DI signal to Focusrite. Thru from the Box would send the guitar into the Kemper.

Thanks for the head’s up about the composite device. Using a DI box sounds good.

I still haven’t figured out if it’s possible to split the assigments for the monitor L/R into:

    Mon out, no cab

    Master out

Or maybe master out to the headphone output is doable.

I’d also be sending Master mono to the Master ouput for FOH
