Configuring the TL-WR802N as an Acess point was very easy and the connection with the iPad worked immediatelly.

I then had to do some research as the connection to the iPad and the remote broke repeatedly.

it was the "lease renewal" in the DHCP settings of one minute. i changed to Static IP and increased the interval to maximum.

Now it works perfect.

Dear all,

my setup: kemper profiler head updated to 8.5.2.29290B

i am using the Vonet wifi connected to my wifi, the kemper does get a proper IP adress, i see KPA listed as connected device in my router, the IP is pingable from the IPad however the app (Rig Manager Profiler Editor) does not find the Kemper, it stays in the screen "scanning for devices" . Any idea what i am missing ? What i noticed also is that in the ipad security settings for network access the app is NOT listed. Do you see the app in that section ?

With this solution you don't need to use your 'big' home router, and can go to a gig and have remote and IPad control for the kemper by only carrying with you the switch and the nano router, along with the kemper gear, the guitars rack and who knows what else:-). That looks good. Thank you!

Apologies if this has already been asked, but is there a way to use the network jack for the foot controller, and also connect to a router for the iPad app? Currently running the RJ45 to my router, and that works, but that means Im SOL for the foot controller. I'm using the profiler rack.

Yes, it is needed to power the remote controller unless you have the Stage Profiler. In that case you dont need a remote :-).

I understand the desire to get this to work “on stage” for older profilers performing without a computer and without internal WiFi capability. But for folks with a Profiler AND a Kemper Remote plugged into that one ethernet port set up (somewhat permanently) in a studio rack situation where the Kemper profiler is 100% hooked up to a Mac/PC computer running Rig Manager via a USB cable…why can’t the iPad app via WiFi to the computer also be made to interface with Rig Manager on the computer which will then in-turn relay/talk to the Kemper Profiler via its USB port???

Is the Kemper 10/100 or gigabit? It looks like this passive POE/Network splitter could plausibly work (no extra power supply needed) kemper to POE splitter, 1 port to remote and 2nd port to your wifi router? Depends on how much power the Kemper can put out and how much power the remote needs..

Earlier in this thread I made that suggestion, but Kemper are saying that it is very unlikely.

It did not work... The extender itself didn't power on. It was worth a try. After some further research I'm guessing the key looks to be Mode A (Endspan) vs Mode B (midspan)... This unit is midspan (aka Mode B) thus incompatible..

This below unit however is endspan.. So it might work. I ordered one and will report back.

The Yantan POE extender didnt work either.

I already owned a Trendnet TPE-TG44G POE switch which I have tested and does work.. but I was hoping to find something small without an external power supply... but this will work for now..
