Tuner Display in Rig Manager

With KPA USB midi avaliable now you can use TOAST ME for tuner for now. It works great
I belive the KPA team will implement it sooner or later as they implemented a lot of things included those ones requested by users of TME editor.

I'd love that. The only other thing I think it needs is a way to switch from browse to performance mode. Browse mode is where I search for rigs based on looking for the right profile. Performance mode is where I program all the other effects for specific situations. The most logical place to keep my Stage is under my desk and having to get on the floor just to switch modes is quite annoying. I get that head/rack owners have a physical knob that points at either, off, Browse, perform, profile, and tuner, (rather than a soft button like the stage) but to me Rig Manager should override it, at least making whether the knob is pointed at browse or perform superfluous and instead follow Rig Manager. I should be able to click on a Rig in performance mode, then one in browse mode without having to manually press a button. That's a greater nuisance than not having the tuner.

that'll be great

This would be so useful with the Kemper Player.

What people don’t realise is that the results wont be great. In order for a tuner to be a functioning utility, the display response time to what is being played needs to be much faster than what rig manager is currently capable of. As it is now the needle on the tuner will be more than a second behind, and you will find yourself frustratet by endlessly overshooting the target tuning.
Rig manager doesn’t seem to be coded with a fast response gui in mind.
Buy a tc polytune clip and forget about having a tuner in RM. -

First of all, if we could have an responsive accurate tuner in Rig Manager it would be a good thing welcomed by many.
Having said that, I started in my first working band in 1964. The first thing any guitarist MUST lean is how to tune the instrument. We only had pitch pipes, harmonicas, pianos/keyboards or another guitar to tune to back in those days. Any musician should train his/her ear to instantly recognize when their instrument is out of tune and be able to correct it quickly. These days I refuse to work with anybody who can't.

if only it were possible to be "in tune". here is an interesting pro discussion:

Are you arguing against tuners ? How do you feel about tuning forks and pitch pipes?

well, after 45 years of trying to get guitars in tune, i found that (for me), the best way is to tune one string to a tuner, and then tune the other strings in octaves to that string.
so yes, a tuner or fork or pipe is absolutely necessary, but tune every string with a tuner?
no. only silent in a live situation.
-
So what your saying is it took you 45 years to learn to use your ears?
I learned 60 years ago how to adjust the intonation of the guitar (the best method is an oscilloscope, imo). I also learned about sweetened tunings for pedal steel. I quickly learned that investment in quality instruments is worth the expense. A guitar that constantly goes out of tune doesn't stay in my collection for long.
I never said anything about tuning every string with a tuner, don't try to put words in my mouth. Like you I usually tune one string (A) with a tuner and the rest to that string. IMO having a tuner in RM might be nice but not necessary.
