Notifications on Announcement Forum

I'd like to be able to subscribe to the Announcements forum so I get a notification when topics are added or changed. Is that possible?

I don't think you can get notifications like you do when you get a reply or a "like", but the Announcements subforum has an RSS feed:

You can use IFTTT to connect that RSS feed to lots of web-connected services and alerts. You could, for instance, get an email for every new announcement thread, or a notification on your phone (if you install the IFTTT app), or if you have smart lights in your house they could turn green. I get alerts sent straight to my Pebble smart watch.

IFTTT doesn't work instantly, but you usually get the news within 10-15 minutes.

I just noticed in the forum notifications settings in my profile there's a checkbox for this. That should do the trick.
