Hi
New user here and gradually getting to know this wonderful machine. I'm wondering if there is a rig out there that captures the Beatles "Revolution" sound. I saw a promising thread from a user last year but was not able to access it for some reason. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome, mate.
Sorry I can't help with any Beatles stuff; grew up on late-'70s & '80s rock, funk, disco & fusion.
I take it you've tried searching for Vox amps on the Rig Exchange? I think that's what they used, no?

For some years ago i did a Beatles setup with som artists.. Its not easy to recreate the crappy originalsound and floppy playing!! It was on a tubeamp. the challenge was to make the guitarsound ugly enaugh!! My taste is airy stratsound and sharp telecaster sound the best! But think you easyly can make some beatles sounds out from VOX or Marshall rigs. no effects and medium gain settings. its best to use a HB guitar for darker frequensies

Thanks for the messages so far. Early Beatles sounds are easy to achieve with a Vox AC30 rig but the overdriven board from Abbey Road is a lot harder. Probably need something like a good fuzz rig to achieve it. I'll keep trying

Hi There,
John Lennon did not use an amp for this song, but the guitar straight in the console. Kemper, how good it is, won't do the job.
Cheers.

Waves makes a plugin that emulates the (EMI?) board's characteristic warmth, IIRC Speedo.

Hi all
I found this thread from last year but the link doesn't work. Any ideas?Beatles "Revolution" Redd 47 DI
Oct 7th 2016+4
I used my Dizengoff D4 clone of The Beatles Redd 47 console preamps to capture the tone of the guitar from "Revolution." I am sharing that and one with the gain turned up a bit extra just for fun. It's an awesome sound!!! Pure EF86 bliss! I have tried this with other preamps and they just don't come close. There is something about that Redd 47 circuit that lends itself incredibly well to overdriven DI guitar! The Beatles captured a bit of magic. [Blocked Image: https://www.kemper-amps.com/forum/wcf/images/smilies/smile.png]Try pairing it with a cab too. It has SUCH a cool sound as a preamp section paired with a cab! Get creative and enjoy!

I re-zipped the two Rigs, Speedo. Should be fine:

Using an Epiphone Casino, or one other P-90 equipped guitar may help get that sound, too.

hello and welcome, what i have heard re-Revolution, is that there was an engineer who was being given a really hard time by Lennon, so he deliberately tried to set up a crap guitar sound for him, but Lennon loved it....

Plugging a guitar directly into a mic input on a consoles wasn't an engineers prank.
