Using only the FXs of the Kemper with an EVH 5150. How works the channelswitching?

Hi,
i'm thinking of going back to my EVH 5150 (50 Watt) head an using the kemper only as an FX device. I managed the "4 cable method" (explained elsewhere) and it works great so far. Effects sound great und I like the easy way of adjusting the FXs (compaired to more complicated devices like the G-Major II I used to play) and I also own and like the Kemper remote which is by far better than my old midi footcontroller.
Here is my question: who can I use the Kemper for channelswithing of the EVH in this combination? I connected the Kemper Midi Out to the EVH's Midi, but that did not work. I don't know how to adjust the Midi settings of the kemper (it must have to do something with this?)
Any suggestions?
