There's an aspect with some tube amp designs I've missed in modelers, including the Kemper. As you dig into those strings, the frequency content, response, or whatever, changes...and those tubes really sing. Thinking mainly about higher gain leads here. I don't like the pick click and trebly response when picking lightly, but I like it to open up and bite when I dig in.
In comes the Studio EQ with ducking functionality
I just placed one in the last stomp before the amp, played lightly and tuned the EQ to suck out the appropriate amount of presence (about 8 dB at 3.5k here). Then moved to the ducking parameter, played with some more force and tuned it so that the EQ no longer had any effect when digging in.
Wonderful, dynamic singing lead, I tell ya! And it acts as a noise supressor to boot
