Even better in person! Goes nicely with my other one.

Nice guitar ! And a lucky owner.

Got my Tom Morello strat just before Christmas.
It didn;t come with the "Soul Power" sticker and I felt it looked empty. I'm not a huge fan of his politics either so I tried to think what would be closer to me... I might be mad and ruined the look but hey, each to their own

Latest acquisition, and probably the last decent guitar I ever buy, is an Ibanez AZ42P1. Stainless frets Gotoh locking tuners and trem are amazing.
Swapped the Bridge pickup with an old Gibson 498T I had laying around. Right now I have the neck pickup hard wired single coil (tap) and the Gibson on the small toggle between the knobs. This is great because I always hit the 5 way switch with my hand when playing. So the 5 way is just for show, nothing going to it at all
I am debating on a P90 at the neck but not sure what would be better sounding a P90 or the tapped Humbucker? -
altough I never played a P90 ... a P90.
I'm thinking about the same, I never played a really good sounding
splitted or tapped humbucker.

This was my first guitar with split coils and I am not overly impressed. I ended up putting the P90 in another guitar and I am glad I did. The one I bought was too dark sounding, no chime at all. These were $29 (pair) Amazon pups. Might throw a capacitor on it to drop some low end. Bridge pickup sounds decent though

Agile Intrepid Pro 828 in natural finish :
Although it’s not really a new guitar day because I spent half of the night cleaning and setting it up 😅
It’s an interesting one…
Made in Korea in 2013, 28 5/8 scale length, 5 piece neck (neck trough assembly) with a Maple fretboard, graphite nut, a single EMG 808 that has way too much output, the electronic’s cavity with plenty of space to easily accommodate upgrades and Grover tuners.

I've never seen the point with a 8 string guitar. Not even a 7 string but to each own.
-
Well, having fun I guess !
Like you probably know, extended range guitars are nothing new, to my knowledge 7s have been used by (solo) musicians since a long time,IMHO and being quite new to extended range guitars, having additional low strings is great. It gives the ability to make nasty chugs while keeping a standard tuned guitar with the first six strings.
I love my seven strings, to the point I rarely play any of my six strings anymore… -

As Christophe said, 7 strings are amazing for chugging metal. 8 strings is a little nuts but Tosin Abasi (Animals as Leaders) made it a standard thing all serious new guitarists should work with.
When I was growing up (70s) I used to play my Black Sabbath albums at half speed. Listen to War Pigs at half speed, its life altering. And even though I love that sound, I only ever play 6 string guitars like you do. I have a 7 string and it feels so foreign that I don't enjoy playing it at all.

7 and 8 string makes sense if you're Charlie Hunter

But at least it sounded better than all those today boring metal bands with 7 or 8 string guitars. So no we will not come together.

I don't see it that way...I think this is just a way to avoid having a bass player....cheaper and less hassle ha!!
