Pretty good condition considering she's 30 years old (1994)
Complete with original leather case which is also pretty good for it's age.

To be honest, I can’t remember. I bought wood a long while ago and its been in my stock[ile waiting for the right project. I think it might be bocote but can’t be sure.

Gorgeous, at first I was thinking ziricote, but the contrasts are so stark, haven't seen anything like it. Fabulous!

Thinking about it, it might actually be ebony. Very little ebony is totally black. I did buy a number of pieces of ebony a few years back so it might be one of them.

Most are black because guitar makers favour picking the jet black pieces. But they will often have some brown or grey areas in the heartwood while the sap wood is pale yellow. Some ebony boards are also stained to make them jet black.
As I mentioned, I can’t actually remember what that piece is but the Wood Database is a great source of information.

The body shape is quite divisive I know. It is almost a straight copy of Steve Klein's design from the 1980's. The concept is about making the guitar comfortable to play and avoid/reduce back, neck and repetitive strain injuries. Once you've played one it immediately becomes clear that Klein absolutely nailed the ergonomic aspect. As you probably know ergonomics is what drives me so I will always take functionality over looks. However, my challenge now is to come up with my own design that allows Klein's playing position while seated without looking so ugly to the vast majority of players 😬

I had the White single cut version and it was brilliant, only topped by a full blown White Falcon. Good choice!

Im such a hippocrite because in ever other part of my life I take function over form, but for some reason guitars that get me are the pretty ones ( in my eyes).

This one's been in the closet for the last 5 years. I bought this Taylor T5 used back around 14 yrs ago and put a GK2 pickup on it. I then acquired a Roland Ready Carvin SH65 and then a Roland Ready Godin xtSA and put the T5 away. I keep it out now because it plays so easy and at 75 easy is always better.
I'm thinking about jumping back in the PRS game and I know there are a lot of fans here. This seems to be a good deal for the money but curious what others think. $1,900? PRS Studio Core with original case.
