Could you direct me to some of the most versatile profiles you use ? (free or commercial)
I mean a single profile which sounds good at different gain stages, clean, crunch, od, lead...

Still, the one and only: Morgan AC20.
Turned down it's a magnificent clean profile, unaltered it is beautiful breakup/crunch, and boosted it's meaty overdrive. -
Yes the morgan is a killer one, such as the cream JTA 45(old one = CREAM-JTA-45 ) by Geraldo , cleans up sooo well and a great workhorse that fits almost all styles.
Also have a look at my JTM30 if you like twang ( Marshall jtm 30 2x10 WarabA check the link in my sign. ) : one profile for Les Paul & one for single coils, very versatile, the gain course is also great ( much better than the original amp !!).

erik stam's legacy rigs should work. also there are some great bogner ecstacy rigs that sound good at all gain levels, but I can't remember whose is best.
