I just watched this over on the Kemper Facebook page. Awesome interview and I'm very much looking forward to those Rig Packs...just hope they get it done soon!

Pretty, Inspiring video.

Awesome vid !!!
-
How much you would be willing to pay to get MW's usb stick??? Wow I bet there are some insane profiles in there! Cool vid, thx for sharing.
-
this guy is insane. really great producer.
around the 16 minute they are talking about the possibility of doing a rig pack but it's more like a loose conversation about it, so maybe (and this is how all my latest posts seem to end) someone from the kemper staff (who is surely reading this thing) is willing to jump in and clarify what's up with a Wagener rig pack cause that would be beyond the possible measurement of awesome! -
Yeah great interview. Getting our hands on those multiple amps profiles would be fantastic !
I also wonder if some of the rigs fount on the R.E. have made their way to some album produced by MW ???

Great vid...
Somebody should tell him that he doen´t need his reamper anymore

Great video. I think the idea of a producer pack could be the next revenue generation step for Kemper. Much like Waves has done with their plug-ins, you get big name recognition from those producers, they get compensated, Kemper makes money and sells more KPAs, and users all get great sounding profiles to play with. Price dependent of course
A path worth investigating.
Glad to hear that he starts with the idea that 70-80% of the tone is in the fingers and hands of the player and not in the gear or profile itself. Whether it's a pack from Mr. Wagener or Lasse or others, the player will still sound like the player and not like a profile or piece of gear.
Love the KPA!

Yeah. and, furthermore, a profile's sound is tightly related to the instrument used and to the loudspeakers system.
I was just reading old posts from SevenStrings. A user wrote st. on this line "TAF profiles sucks: I'ver bought xxx and can't have it sould like on their demo". LOL
-
Yeah. and, furthermore, a profile's sound is tightly related to the instrument used and to the loudspeakers system.
Which for me kind of begs the question...when we buy rigs (or even download them free) would it not be optimal to put profiles in categories of pickups used. i.e 'High Gain amp pack - Humbucker' 'High Gain amp pack - Single Coil' etc. I'm a 100% humbucker guy so profiles that were made with single coils are not gonna sound as well as I would like for me and are most likely gonna take a lot more tweaking. I don't profile amps so I'm not sure the exact difference it makes using different pickup configs but it was just a thought if it really makes a difference.

I agree, the more the information the more aware the choice. This would be just one of the involved elements tho. Not all those who create profiles (both for free or by charge) use extremely linear amps and loudspeaker, and the same stands true for the users. This adds a huge amount of variables to our equation.
Not to mention mix-ready profiles: when you try them alone they usually sound very bad (the main reason why factory profiles are usually bashed IMO) and give no "wow" effect... but pros don't care about wows, they want something which works in the mixAnyway, not necessarily a profile meant for HBs can't be tweaked for SCs (and vice versa). And there are differences among HBs too (just think of bridge-neck)...
Fact is, there are so many variables that you just have to try and tweak. The same setup and gear played by two people will sound different... -
wow M wagener is amazing , I hope he really does release some profiles . I wonder how much he would charge though , all of his albums have great guitar sounds
-
Really inspiring interview, thanks for that!
